Declan Lynch was born in Athlone, Co Westmeath. A journalist, writer and playwright he has written for Hot Press, Irish Press, Sunday Independent, and numerous pieces for magazines.
His plays include Massive Damages (The Passion Machine 1997), and Breaking Out (based on the novel The Rooms) 2007. His non-fiction books include They Are Of Ireland (Hot Press Books) 1994 and Ireland On Three Million Pounds A Day (New Island) 1995. His novels
are All The People All The Time (Simon & Schuster) 2002, Do Nothing Till You Hear From Me (Simon & Schuster) 2003, The Rooms (Hot Press Books) 2005 and The Book Of Poor Ould Fellas (with Arthur Mathews) (Hodder Headline) 2007, paperback autumn 2008.
His new book Free Money (Transworld Ireland): an exploration of the world of Internet gambling is out in May 2009.
